Each and every one of us looks at social media such as Facebook and Twitter with a different perspective. Some people live and die by it; others wouldn’t even bother to be associated with it. One thing that we can all agree on is that every one likes to be acknowledged for their good work. With that being said, recognition could go a long way. So how can your company use social media to improve employee morale?
One way that I believe companies can use social media to improve employee morale is perhaps posting an “Employee of the Month.” Each month upper level management will be able to show their recognition for an Employee of the Month. This employee may have had the best sales, most sales, demonstrated a positive attitude within the establishment, etc. After each person has been chosen, they would be asked if it was okay to post their photo on the company’s social media page(s) and offered a potential incentive for their work.
When employees see others being awarded for their good work, they may strive harder to be the best they can be. Not only will this encourage employees, but it could also become a program that people look up to in your company.
