I invite you on a brief trip of my experience at Canadore College as an International Student.
Initially my idea was never to move to North Bay. In terms of life in general, I felt that I should start in a smaller place, but I was skeptical about what Canadore could perhaps give me, maybe not many opportunities.
After two years at Canadore and almost three years in the city of North Bay, I have given myself forty times that in thanks to the community here; the opportunities exist and it is not necessary to have a hectic life to achieve what you want.
In my first semester at Canadore, I gave myself the task of improving my English, which at that time was quite basic; I knew how to say hello and say almost all the colors, but that would not help me. With the passion and help of my teachers, my English reached a university level.
In my second semester in Advertising and Marketing Communications, I managed to work with my first client via phone, and managed to sell my first design; this opportunity would not have been given me without the social connections that I have gained here at Canadore.
In my third semester, I worked on a complete campaign for a client and now this same client wants to carry out the campaign here in North Bay and I am very excited to start this great project.
I am now completing my last semester here at Canadore, looking forward to my placement at the end of this semester and many more opportunities.
I would recommend Canadore College, for all that I have been taught and the great community that North Bay attracts and its students and professors.
Now I invite you to see the opportunities for you, also, within the city and within Canadore. Enjoy!
