In the span of the next ten years, communication companies and products, in North America at least, will continue to adapt and modify to support the needs and wants of consumers. The taste for faster and easier communication will always be there, however the flavour will change. External influences on communicating will change along with the times, as well, and this will affect what types of products we will see.
I also believe that the majority of people will communicate more often. This doesn’t necessarily mean with more words but the frequency at which people connect will increase as it already has within the past decade. People already become invested in their communication devices and I can see relationships with technology becoming more intense and intimate during the next ten years. This will mean a constant connection to an even more convenient way to keep in touch with people you are not physically with.
This also means that businesses will be able to get closer to consumers. There will definitely be new social media platforms and updated versions of the ones that already exist, therefore, with the advancement of technologies, Advertisers and Public Relations teams will be able to almost literally be wherever their target markets are. The Marketing Communications industry has seen nothing yet.
