I feel that there are more advantages for a brand using social media than disadvantages. Almost every single well known brand out there uses social media as an easier way to connect with their audience. Brands are using social media as a way to display what they have to offer; they also use it because it’s a fast and easy way to reply to important questions that people might have. By answering questions publicly on social media, all their other followers can see the answer as well.
A lot of you might know about the fast food restaurant called Wendy’s. Wendy’s has one of the most interactive and funniest social media managers out there. This social media manager spends most of the day replying to tons of followers and answering their questions, whether they are serious questions or not.
Here’s a picture posted by a girl who tweeted at Wendy’s asking “Can you find me the nearest McDonalds?”. Wendy’s quickly responded with an image of a trash can implying that their food isn't good. It’s great humour like this that gives your company essentially free advertising, because of all of their hilarious replies. Wendy’s had gained over 500,000 retweets this month which generates millions of impressions. Social media is changing the game for all brands and is making advertising easier than it’s ever been.
