Social media is rapidly growing and is the “new” way to get new information on things and is what everyone’s now starting to be connected to the majority of the day.
To me, Facebook is one of the most used Social Media. It can be used to talk to friends, play games and even find out new sites for companies that you might be looking for. When creating a Facebook page for a company, you can keep track of how many people you are reaching, and you can also let your customers find about new deals and offers.
Some companies such as Muskoka Bear Wear even have contests to involve customers and make people want to post photos of themselves in the clothing in hopes to win prizes. Companies that are doing this are also asking for customers to post the item with hash tags and tagging the company in an bid to win contests or get posted on the Instagram page or on the “wall of fame” that can be found in any of their stores.
The next social media that I find very important is Twitter. Customers can tag the company in the post and give the company feedback so the company can figure out what they are doing wrong or right. Some companies will even send out apologies or store coupons for unhappy customers.
