The future of communication is something that is kind of unclear. The technological age that we are living in now is something really really [b1] new – only within the past 20 years. So did we hit the maximum of our technological advancements for the next little while? Or will we develop some next level technologies that we can’t even think of currently[b2] ?
It would be intense to have a communication tool, such as a holographic projector, where you can see someone’s entire body while you’re talking to them from a distance; it's just the coolest thing. Think about it – your boss with an insanely dry sense of humour is calling. He says something over the phone that slightly sounds like he’s scolding you however you aren’t sure because his humour is sometimes hard to pick up on. But when you talk to him in real life it’s easier to decipher this because you can read his body language. Well now with the holographic projector you can tell whether or not your boss is actually pissed off at you or if he is just playing around. BAM. Technology.
Or transparent cellphones. Just picture holding your iPhone when it’s made out of glass, so there’s no actual background. The font is the only thing that appears on the screen and you can still see a fogged image of what’s behind you? Incredible. I’m excited for the day that technology like this will be released to the public!
Technology fascinates me. Like I said, it’s hard to predict where we’re going to be with our technological advancements within the next 20 years, however I certainly hope what I have touched on will be a possibility in the near future.
[b1]Possibly ‘extremely’ new would come off stronger than really really…
[b2]Do you like the idea of saying “we can’t even fathom?” instead of “think of”?
