Placement has come up and it's time to find my personal success, that success being found at the Customization Depot here in North Bay. After a successful meeting with the employer Dave Lafayette, I decided to take on the task of helping the Customization Depot in obtaining awareness within North Bay and attracting new customers within Canada and the United States.
My objectives during my placement will be to obtain as much “work field” experience and have as much hands-on experience as possible, viewing this as an entry level into the Marketing & Advertising world. Also, I hope to develop my creative skills and ideas to be able to achieve what the employer wants in various matters, while also helping myself have a better “real world” experience to be able to tackle certain tasks.
One of my major objectives is to focus heavily on social media to be able to help promote more brand awareness for the Customization Depot as they do not have any social media except for a website, so Facebook and perhaps Twitter/Youtube would be a fantastic opportunity, while also focusing on creating awareness within the Nipissing District & North Bay because, as the owner Dave Lafayette stated, “Nobody knows about us here, all of our business is done outside of North Bay”.
The way I see it, there may be various opportunities for the Customization Depot to do business with schools, clubs & sports teams within North Ba,y as they are a printing company and one of their major product sellers are sports jerseys.
I think this will be a great opportunity for me to have real, hands-on experience. This is an entry point for me to the work field; it could also open up various opportunities for me in the future. I think it will be fun and I look forward to working at the Customization Depot.
